SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL (SCS) Catechesis Level II (Grades 1-3) Grades 4-6 Children's Choir |
Grades 1-3 meet in Room A2 in our second atrium ( see CGS Level I for additional explanation) each week from 9 am -10:30 am. The children have a weekly presentation of stories of Jesus's life and his parables. Level II continues Level I by going into more depth of Jesus's life and teachings and also more practical life presentations. |
Sunday Summer School and Children's Chapel Are provided between services during the summer at 9 am. |
During this first part of the church service from 10:30 am until the exchange of the peace children in grades 1 through 3 gather in the chapel to learn about the gospel for the day as well as practicing parts of the liturgy such as the gospel procession. The children all take turns acting as acolytes, readers and other roles with in the service. |
The Joyful Noise program is a monthly collection of coins taken up by the Catechesis children during worship. These offerings are used to purchase items for needy children at Lauer’s Park Elementary School, Berks Women in Crisis Center, and other social agencies in Reading. Joyful Noise is usually on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Remember to save your change to make a change in Berks County. |

GRADES 4 - 6 |
Grades 4 through 6 meet in Room D each week from 9am-10 am. Each week the Gospel for the Day is studied and activities are co-ordinated. This group develops experiential Stations of the Cross every Good Friday. |
CHILDREN'S CHOIR |
Children's Choir consisting of Grades 1-5 meets at 10:30am in Room A-2 to practice seasonal songs for presentation during the 10:15am worship service. |
