There is no ONE way to walk the labyrinth

"Walking a labyrinth is a body prayer. It is
non-threatening; all we are asked to do is walk.
Even those of us with the deepest inner divisions
can do that. Moving through the labyrinth, we can
learn what it feels like to stand firm in the world.
We sense our feet firmly planted on the ground,
our legs, pelvis, torso, arms, neck and head flowing
with enerry and life."

"The labyrinth was designed by an intelligence we
cannot fully understand. But this much I do know.
The labyrinth is truly a tool for transformation. It is
a crucible for change, a blueprint for the sacred
meeting of psyche and soul, a field of light, a
cosmic dance. It is a center for empowering ritual."
Labyrinth Walk - Fourth Friday of Each Month 4-6PM

Christ Church - Reading
(Please use the Court Street entrance - greeters will be there to meet you
with information and direct you to the labyrinth.

This is an indoor Labyrinth so you can walk with Christ come rain
or shine. This Labyrinth is modeled after Chartres Cathedral's
Labyrinth in France. The labyrinth consists of 11 circuits (bends
in the path). For more information about the labyrinth call the
Christ Church office at 610-374-8269.
Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has only one path
to the center. While a maze may be exciting,
a labyrinth is used for mediation, prayer,
centering, problem solving, and stress
reduction. Because you are focused on the
path yu are walking, your mind has the
freedom to become open to the possibility
of life. As stated there are many ways to
use the labyrinth, and we will give you some
pointers when you arrive which will help
you to create a walking style with which you
are most comfortable. Again there is no
singlular way to walk the labyrinth-- only
options.
"The labyrinth is truly a tool for our times. It can help
us find our way through the bewildering multiplicity, to
the unity of source. The labyrinth is an evocative
experience. The labyrinth provides the sacred
space where the inner and outer worlds can commune,
where the thinking mind andthe imaginative heart
canflow together. It can provide a space to listen to
our inner voice of wisdom and come to grips with
our role in humankind's next evolutionary step.
Troubled communities can come to the labyrinth to
discover and synchronize their vison. It gives us a
glimpse of other realms and other ways of knowing."

Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Tool by Dr. Lauren Artress
